The story

An annual meeting looks back on a year of work. The photographs bring that story down to the people in the room.

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s 107th Annual Meeting brought members together at Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown for networking, dinner, community recognition, and a passing of the gavel.

I photographed the evening from arrival through the program, building a collection that connected the formal moments on stage with the conversations and reactions around them.

Preparation & priorities

Know what happens.
Know when it matters.

Before the event, I asked the Chamber for the running order. Registration and networking would begin at 5 p.m., dinner at 6:15, and the program at 7:15.

That schedule gave the coverage its structure: photograph the connections while guests were circulating, then shift attention to the speakers, recognition, and leadership transition as the program began.

The evening had two different rhythms: people catching up around the room, then everyone turning toward the program. The collection follows both.

The passing of the gavel marked the transition from the current Board Chair to the incoming Chair for the 2027 fiscal year.

Alongside the wider room photographs, this frame gives the collection a specific moment to remember the Annual Meeting by.

The photographs were delivered through an online gallery, with the larger Annual Meeting gallery sent to the Chamber on September 27.

The Chamber had asked about photographs as it planned its social posts. The delivered collection brought together arrivals, networking, speakers, recognition, and the room itself—giving the team a range of views to choose from.
